pretend you did not see.
pretend you saw my mask,
and did not see the real me.

just forget what you saw,
pretend I am okay.
pretend you didn't see it,
just turn and walk away.

pretend that I am normal,
but we both know I'm not.
and if someone asks you about me,
pretend that you forgot.

pretend things are the same,
just do it for my sake.
pretend I want to live,
even if I do not wake.

lie for me and smile,
pretend everything is right.
pretend that I am happy
and that I am alright.
